Production

Although I was trained to be a ship carpenter, I started my own fish-filleting business thirty years ago.

Over the years I gained substantial know-how on the manual skinning and filleting of flatfish. In the beginning it was manual work only. A few years ago we obtained machines that measure up to manual work.

Some years ago Albert and Herman Romkes asked me to join NEERLANDIA-URK. Today I am employed as a works manager. I am well aware of the importance of the exemplary role the executive staff has in a company such as this. If necessary, I also roll up my sleeves.

Because the volume of supplied fish varies greatly, we have a group of employees that are on permanent stand-by and don’t go home until the job is done.
For the benefit of our staff’s working pleasure and our staff being able to stay focussed, we have a shift system

Personal hygiene and clean working are a must. The work is not finished until the workplace is properly cleared. Immediately after that a professional cleaning team comes in to make the whole place perfectly clean. As far as I am concerned, customers are welcome to pay us a surprise visit at any time.
