Over the years we have built up an extensive network of fishermen, auctioneers and transporters in Europe that work in accordance with our quality standards. Most of the fish comes from the fish auctions in Denmark, the Netherlands and Belgium.

As soon as somewhere a fishing boat makes the harbour, the fish is inspected by our on-site expert. He knows exactly which quality is eligible for being processed by us. Based on his test report we join the bidding at the auction. Specialized transport brings the batch of fish to our company, quickly and at the right temperature.

The Urk fishermen have boats that, in addition to the seasonal catching of herring, are fit for catching flatfish the rest of the year. That is why at the Urk auction a lot of flatfish, especially sole and plaice, is offered and why companies have been established there to process this fish, including NEERLANDIA-URK.

We strive to be a modern company where quality is the highest good. Fortunately, the island of Urk is blessed with hard working and responsible people. It is me and my brother’s task to create the right social climate for our employees. This is the only way in which we can realize our objectives.
